  • Numerous crashes from icy conditions on Hwy 97

The North Okanagan RCMP are warning drivers about icy and slippery conditions today on Highway 97 between Vernon and Kelowna.

RCMP members are currently at Highway 97 and the Bailey Road area responding to three separate single-vehicle collisions.

The accidents are all due to slippery road conditions.

The RCMP are asking the public to slow down on their Friday commute and allow extra travel time for the conditions.

"No injuries have been reported at this time and the City of Vernon Department of Highways has been advised", says Cst. Kelly Brett.

The highway remains open at this time.
