  • Now You KNow! – All about the Capital One Race for Kids

On Saturday morning, the Okanagan Boys & Girls Club hosted the 5th annual Capital One Race for Kids in Kelowna. The motto for the race this year was " Grown-ups play. Kids win," and that's exactly what happened.

Apart from the hilarious fun to be had by all, the race was a great event to take part in as the participants had been fundraising leading up to the event not only to support the cause but to gain advantages in the race. All the proceeds of the event and money raised went towards ensuring the Okanagan Boys & Girls Club can keep giving every child a chance to discover, develop and achieve their potential with the help of trained, caring adults.

Over 10 teams of adults competed in the amazing race-esque event filled with zany checkpoint challenges that not only sent them all around Kelowna's Downtown area but took them back to their childhood. The teams were eager to take on any challenge presented to them, whether it was tossing water balloons into small buckets or playing a birds eye view version of "I spy" from the rooftops of buildings.

An added bonus to these tasks is that they were great team building exercises for the teams that consisted of mainly coworkers as it took a lot of brain power to figure out the tricky clues.

The games weren't the only wacky part of the event. The teams were also dressed up to the nines in totally original and vibrant outfits from golden morph suits to underwater scuba gear, every team went all out to show their support.

Even if you weren't participating you could get a laugh and smile out of this event, seeing the teams racing around the streets of Kelowna decked out from head to toe. If you were unable to join in on this fun-filled event but would still like to support the Okanagan Boys & Girls Club head to their website to donate.
