  • Now You KNow! – All about the Bands, Burgers, Beers and Balding event

On Saturday night at the Kelowna Curling Club, the 2nd annual Bands, Burgers, Beers, and Balding event was held and it was a great success.

The event is held in order to raise funds for the BC Children's Hospital and the Kelowna General Hospital. It has become a tradition that the three organizers shave their heads to gain more donations as well as to support the young children who are battling cancer. Last year, the event raised over $24,000 and the goal is the same for this year.

This fun-filled event featured live music from local band Fighting Orange, prizes and of course, burgers and beer. The grand prizes for the evening included a workbench and a wine barrel made into a wine rack.

This means 100 per cent of funds raised were given to the two charities. Each dinner table had special handmade cards on them, made by children currently in hospital.

The event was truly inspiring as you were given a thank you from those who benefit the most from such an important evening.
