This year, artists and art supporters can be nominated for artist of the year in performing, emerging artist and business supporter of the arts.
The first award will recognize an outstanding performing artist. The second, emerging artist, is open to visual artists, musicians and performers between the ages of 18 and 35 who are working in the art world. It will recognize their accomplishments as well as their future potential.
Businesses and corporations that have made a significant contribution to local arts and culture through donations, sponsorships, and more will qualify for third award.
The nomination forms can be found on the Mayor’s Gala for the Arts website. The deadline for submissions is Friday, September 30 at 5 p.m.
This is the 10th year of the awards as the Kamloops Art Gallery, Kamloops Symphony and Western Canada Theatre once again partner with the City of Kamloops to cheer on and inspire artists and art supporters in the region.
