A recently closed restaurant within Kelowna’s Landmark District is getting a revival today with the opening of Mid-Town Station Kitchen + Drink.
The new family-friendly eatery occupies the space that once housed The Xchange at 1516 Dickson Avenue, which announced its official closure exactly one month ago.

You may recognize the Station brand, as it is in fact owned by the same couple who opened Kelowna’s beloved Train Station Pub in 2015. The duo of David and Rhonda Lindsay were looking to expand their already successful business model when the establishment became available.
If you used to frequent Xchange, the space will strike you with familiarity as most of the renovation overhauls focused more on the menu and branding rather than the interior design.

“When we first came in I thought it looked great,” said David Lindsay. “We more so wanted to come at the area with a fresh menu, name and attitude that fits the demographic of the people who live and work here.”
Unlike Train Station’s signature menu of elevated pub fare, Mid-Town’s food will fall under the casual dining umbrella, offering up a number of vegan and gluten-free options as well as dishes inspired by different international cuisines.

“We wanted to bring the successes we’ve had at Train Station here, but have something unique for guests to experience,” said Lindsay. “This menu will show a lot more diversity despite being a bit smaller than the one you’ll find at our original location.”
On the menu, you will find everything from chili tofu and beet poke, to Korean pork bao buns, Morrocan chicken, hearty steak with frites and a classic burger.

On tap, there will be eight options for BC craft beer, one of which will be constantly rotating to showcase Kelowna-based breweries.
In addition to a revamped and refreshed menu, the Lindsay’s say their team will work hard to ensure patrons have a welcoming, quick and comfortable experience — a trait they say is one of the biggest reasons behind the success of Train Station.

“We have tried to really provide an offering that our team is eager to deliver and of good value to our guests,” said Lindsay.
The restaurant's hours are from 11 am until 8 pm Monday through Thursday, from 11 am until 10 pm on Fridays and for private functions only on Saturday and Sunday.
