Get those skis and snowboards out because it’s nearly time to hit the slopes.
After last Thursday’s opening day was postponed due to a lack of snow, Big White Ski Resort has set a new time and date for the lifts to start spinning on the 2025-26 ski season.
The mountain will open to riders at 8:45 am on Thursday, Dec. 4.
The decision was made this morning after a dump of overnight snow that brought the alpine snow base up to 69 centimetres.

While there’s enough snow to open in two days, it certainly won’t be the full mountain experience.
Big White senior VP Michael J. Ballingal says the Ridge Rocket, Bullet and Plaza chairlifts along with Lara’s Gondola will be running with access to a limited number of runs.
“Please stay on open runs only,” he urged riders in advance of opening day.
As a result of the limited mountain access, lift tickets will be discounted at 50% off for both Thursday and Friday this week.
