More and more Canadians are embracing “Dry January” as a means to make up for what is often a holiday season full of excess.
While the benefits of abstaining from alcohol from Jan. 1 to Feb. 1 are undisputed, the feasibility of completing a dry month is hazy.
A new survey from cannabis brand Foray says one in three Canadians will attempt dry January, but the majority would like a little help in the form of non-alcohol alternatives.
The survey of 1,500 Canadian adults conducted last month found a quarter of respondents who identified as “weekly alcohol consumers” expressed interest in consuming cannabis during the dry month.

According to the findings, 77% of people believe marijuana is an equal or better choice than consuming alcohol, largely because they felt it results in fewer hangovers (25%) and results in an improved state (16%).
With legal edibles, topicals and vapes finally available for purchase in Canada, there are more options than ever for those looking to consume cannabis.
However, cannabis brands continue to recommend "start low and go slow" when it comes to trying out new products.
