There’s been no shortage of help for B.C. firefighters over the past month.

Since a provincial state of emergency was declared by the province on July 8th, crews from Mexico, Australia and across Canada have come to help fight the fires.

Out of the 3,700 firefighters currently battling fires across the province, 800 are from out of province.

Now, there are more Australian firefighters on the way courtesy of the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS).

The NSW RFS is the world’s largest fire service with 74,000 volunteers and there are 100 on the way to B.C.
 

According to The Australian, 40 left Sydney on Wednesday morning and another 60 are set to fly out on Thursday morning.

The first group should be landing at some point on Wednesday with the second group arriving on Thursday, thanks to the time change.

One member of the NSW RFS is even skipping his wedding anniversary to make the trip to Canada, but the NSW RFS Twitter page says that he has his wife’s blessing.
