(UPDATE: July 31 @ 8:15 am) – The woman has now been found.

Police said in a news release this morning that the 28-year-old, who was reported missing on July 28, was "located safe."

They added: "Thank you to the public and media for their assistance and the valuable tips that helped advance this investigation. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Search and Rescue and our partner agencies for their dedicated support and efforts throughout.

"To respect the privacy of the woman and her family, no further details will be released."

(UPDATE: July 30 @ 4:30 pm) – There has been an apparent break in the search for a woman who disappeared from Shambhala Music Festival in the early hours of Monday morning.

The RCMP says a tip came in today that led investigators to a "confirmed sighting" of 28-year-old Kayla Boisvert last night.

According to police, the missing woman was seen south of Salmo around 8:30 pm Wednesday. Investigators are releasing photos of the sighting to update the public on Boisvert's last-known clothing description.

Police provided no further information about the location of the sighting, but say that investigators are piecing together the puzzle about how Boisvert travelled there and her movements since the sighting.

"RCMP and festival organizers have been working closely together since the outset of this investigation. On July 29, search and rescue attended the festival grounds to assist with search efforts," the RCMP update explained.

"There has been significant sharing of information on social media; however, it remains important that anyone with firsthand information contact police directly and not rely solely on social media posts."

Boisvert was last seen at the Shambhala Music Festival, which takes place at the Salmo River Ranch just over 10 km south of Salmo, around 2:15 am on Monday. She became separated from her group as they navigated between stages and shows on the final night of the EDM festival.

(Original story: July 28 @ 4:40 pm) – The Salmo RCMP has made an official public appeal for information regarding a woman who went missing from Shambhala Music Festival in the early hours of Monday morning.

Kayla Boisvert, 28, is from Ontario and her friend Ming Liu began posting about her disappearance on social media nearly 24 hours ago.

The RCMP says she was last seen at Shambhala around 2:15 am Monday and Liu's post adds further details about her last-known movements at the festival.

He explains that Boisvert was with their group for the beginning of Kai Wachi’s set at the Pagoda stage at 12:15 am Monday before they made their way to the Village stage for Ganja White Night around 1 am.

While he does not indicate when Boisvert became separated from the group, Liu says the last text he received from Boisvert was at 3 am.

Liu’s appeals have already spread significantly over social media and multiple people have reported interactions with Boisvert around when she was last seen, but she has not been found.

According to the RCMP, Boisvert is 6’0” with brown eyes and black hair with long blonde braids. She was last seen wearing a blue head scarf, an oversized graphic t-shirt and multi-coloured scarves.

Liu's follow-up social media post adds that Boisvert is of Jamaican ethnicity and weighs between 160-170 lbs. It also provides several additional details, including photos, about what she was wearing when she disappeared.
