Dr. David Urness has been providing chiropractic care for over 25 years out of Valleyview Chiropractic, located just off Hwy 33, in the heart of Rutland.

The chiropractic team at ValleyView aims to produce the best possible outcome for patients in the least number of treatments possible, and the services they offer allow patients to achieve and regain healthy, active lifestyles.

Having the support and resources to live an active lifestyle is integral to mental and physical well-being. And Dr. Urness is passionate about facilitating community well-being through his stewardship of many projects and assets as well as continuous education which provides patients with valuable knowledge and skills. 

“I feel compelled to give back and contribute positively back to this community,” he says about his impact on the community and conversely its impact on him. When asked what he believes makes Rutland special he responded “community and people who value it.”

Over the years he’s observed many changes in Rutland, that he believes have worked towards achieving these same objectives.

“There is an increased urban appeal with such positive developments in green space use like Ben Lee Park, and the newly renovated Rutland Centennial park…excellent sports complex at Rutland Sports Fields, YMCA, gymnastics center, arena and seniors center, the resources are far-reaching for residents in this area” he explains.

In fact, his favourite memory in Rutland was the construction of Ben Lee park, noting that “the late Mr. Lee worked tirelessly to establish what was to become the catalyst toward urban renewal that the area enjoys to this day.”

He hopes that Rutland continues to develop commercially with “continued urban enhancement of the commercial core to serve the neighboring residential community“ and socially, offering “resources in the form of social housing and community futures for the disenfranchised and working poor.”
