  • Logan Stankoven impresses at Dallas Stars development camp

Kamloops Blazers superstar Logan Stankoven is already turning heads at the NHL level.

The 2021 second round draft pick of the Dallas Stars was in Frisco, Texas last week for the team's five-day development camp.

The 19-year-old impressed with his skills throughout, and was the winner of the team's Lightning McQueen Cup as the most outstanding player.

This was the Kamloops' native first time at the Texas camp, as COVID wiped out the opportunity last year.

"It was awesome to see everyone come out to watch the mini skills competition, relay races and the games," Stankoven said. "We had some good fans and a good group of people that came out all week. I really enjoyed the whole camp."

The busy month will continue for Stankoven, as he will be a part of Team Canada for the 2022 World Juniors, taking place next month in Edmonton.

"I have some power skating and skills work in Vancouver," he said. "I'm there Monday through Friday, then I'll be back [home] for a week, and then I'm off to World Juniors. It's going to be a busy couple of weeks."

Also at the camp from the Blazers were Matthew Seminoff (2022 sixth round pick) and Ethan Brandwood (undrafted).
