The Kelowna branch of the Canadian Red Cross on 124 Adams Road, opened its doors to the public on Saturday afternoon to teach locals more about emergency preparedness.

The event welcomed attendees of all ages who are keen on becoming more prepared for the Okanagan's upcoming flood and fire season.
Attendees could learn more about many aspects of the Red Cross, from water safety and first aid to disaster management and the health equipment loan program. Each station provided helpful tips and demonstrations that can be used in a wide variety of emergency situations.

The event showcased not only what the Red Cross can teach but what services they can provide in the midst of a disaster. From clean up services and medical equipment to pop up shelters and emergency kits.
