One non-profit organization worth mentioning is The Open Door Group.
Not only do they host job fairs every year, they also offer full-time resources to residents in need of accomplishing a variety of tasks no matter how simple.

Spotlight on security
The next Jobs in Demand program to make note of is the opportunity to work as a security professional.
Security is one of the fastest growing industries in B.C. and could be your next building block towards a career.
A job as a security professional provides employers the means of knowing that an individual has a high level of knowledge pertaining to the safety of their workplace environment.
As a security professional, you will have the opportunity to work in the public sector, private sector, or as an independent contractor in a variety of roles.
“In this job, I feel like I’ve completed something that I’ve worked towards,” said Ashley, a recent graduate of the program. “I honestly have appreciated this journey more than any other journey I’ve been on.”
The security program is suited to young adults ages 19-29 looking to receive a rounded education, in a practical, hands-on learning environment. As a student, you will learn about security as a profession, receive the basic security training certifications, as well as first-aid training. You’ll work with like-minded peers to create a resume and a cover letter tailored to represent you as a new and improved professional. This program is free of charge.
You’ll even have the opportunity to connect with potential employers, and gain one-on-one mentorship and counselling from the knowledgeable facilitators and advisors at Open Door Group.
