West Kelowna native, Jasmine Naaykens, is looking for a spot on city council during next month’s election.

Naaykens was born and raised in West Kelowna and graduated from Mount Boucherie Secondary.

She is now a mother and owns a property maintenance company. Before starting her small business, Naaykens managed a 24/7 care facility.

She also has extensive volunteer experience through local organizations like the SPCA and food bank. 

“I want to do my utmost with engaging the residents in West Kelowna and advocate for the people that are rarely heard,” explains Naaykens.

“With a city that is planning on doubling in population in the next 18 years, I want to ensure that our sense of community stays strong. I want to give everyone a voice and I want to grow together.”

Some of her priorities include advocating for small businesses and supporting agricultural operations across the region.

Naaykens believes that connecting with the community should be done in “many different ways, easily and affordably.”

Finally, she will prioritize finding new ways to “incorporate appropriate infrastructure to accommodate West Kelowna’s population increase.”
