Large amount of found cash turned in to police by Good Samaritan

The Nanaimo RCMP are looking for the rightful owner of a large sum of cash that was found in late February.

Police said that a man was out for a walk in the early morning one day and found the cash on the street in the area of Labieux Road.

The finder immediately contacted the police who attended and seized the money for safekeeping.

“If you're wondering how much was found, let’s just say it’s more than $50 and less than $300,” said R/Cst Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.

If anyone has information on who may have lost this money, please call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
