Teachers were selected from across the US and Canada and will receive special opportunities to support their teaching activities for the year. Clarke is one of 50 selected to participate.

"We congratulate Tina Clarke on this international distinction and we are grateful that she is part of our caring community in the Central Okanagan," said the Superintendent of Schools Kevin Kaardal. "Teachers like Tina are why we can offer a world-class education that prepares students to thrive in a global society."

Clarke teaches Advanced Placement (AP) Human Geography for KSS. As part of the award, she will be attending the AGS Fall Symposium on November 17-19 in New York City.

The Symposium provides Fellows with the opportunity to interact with geography and geospatial leaders from across the country, as well as receive professional training in geography and geospatial technology tools.

“It is an honour for AGS to name Mrs. Tina Clarke as a 2022 AGS Geography Teacher Fellow," said the CEO of the AGS, Dr. John Konarski.

"Mrs. Clarke joins a very exclusive group of the best geography teachers and we are eager to work with her and look forward to November when she meets with the other AGS Geography Teacher Fellows in New York City at our annual Symposium."
