Some notable road closures are going to be in place to accommodate the KLO Road bridge replacement project over the next month.
The City of Kelowna says multiple evening closures and lane reductions will be required starting this Sunday and stretching into mid-October.
The project includes the bridge replacement along with the installation of a new roundabout and active transportation options, as well as general area improvements.

According to the City, the anticipated work schedule is 7 pm through 5:30 am, five days a week, and will result in the following closures or lane reductions:
KLO Road between Hall Road and Como Road:
- Sept. 21 to 25: Road closure with detour in place via Fisher Road.
- Sept. 23 and 25: Intermittent bridge closures in 30- to 45-minute intervals.
- Sept. 28 to Oct. 9: Road reduced to single lane alternating traffic.
Hall Road between KLO Road and Wildwood Road:
- Oct. 14 to 17: Road reduced to single lane alternating traffic.
“Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians can expect delays and may wish to choose other routes when possible,” a City release explained. “Access to the closed section of KLO will be limited to residents of the area.”
The City thanked the public for its patience and urged people to abide by safety personnel instructions, posted construction signage and fencing while commuting through the area.
