A Kelowna pizzeria has been named one of the best in Canada by a popular travel website.

Antico Pizza Napoletana, on Bernard Ave, came in at number three on Big Seven Travel’s list of “21 pizzas in Canada you have to eat before you die”.

The listing explains: “The pizzaiolos here are trained in Naples, using only the finest ingredients available to create an authentic Neapolitan pizza in a centuries old tradition. Incredibly delicious.”

Owner Tony Katsabanis told KelownaNow he is “very proud” of his pizzas and pleased to receive a “tip of the hat” for his work.

“If you do something for 30 years, you get good at it,” he explained. “I’ve worked in some of the best pizzerias in Naples. I’ve been making pizzas all my life.”

The key to his success, he said, was being “so detail-oriented”.

Already today, Tony added, a number of customers have mentioned the article.

Number one on the list was The Good Son in Toronto, which was praised for its variety.
