A beautifully painted piano has been damaged in Kelowna.

The piano was located in Stuart Park to encourage people walking by to sit down and play some music. Someone called RCMP on Friday morning to report a man yelling, swearing and smashing the downtown piano.

The 23-year-old Kelowna man, with no fixed address, now is facing potential charges.

“An officer with the Kelowna RCMP Bike Patrol Unit, partnered with a City of Kelowna Bylaw’s officer, intercepted the man not far from the scene,” said Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“He was placed under arrest and taken into custody without incident,” added O’Donaghey.
