  • Kelowna girls win gold at tournament in Kamloops

That put the girls into an early Sunday morning semi-final game, which they won to get into the finals against Burnaby.

Both teams scored two goals in regulation, sending the finals to overtime and eventually a shootout.

That’s where the Kelowna team would cap off their undefeated weekend with a 3-2, gold-medal-winning shootout win.

According to coach Donna Dudych, who was joined by Denis Di Pasquale and Darwin Robbins behind the bench, the team scored 25 goals and only surrendered three in their five games.

Players on the team included Madison Robbins, Johanna Hoek, Kaelin Foster, Jenna Dudych, Rachel Di Pasquale, Tyler Penney, Sydney Roberts, Bryn England, Jada Casey, Emily Gonsalves, Sarah Armstrong, Marnie Houtstra and Taylar Janicki.
