The Kelowna Chiefs’ seven-game winning streak came to an abrupt end on Friday as the host Princeton Posse scored in overtime to edge the visitors 5-4 in Kootenay International Junior B Hockey League action at the Princeton and District Arena.

Photo Credit: Lorne White/KelownaNowThe Chiefs' Zach Erhardt scored once and assisted on two goals in a losing cause. Austin O’Neil’s fourth goal of the season with 2:54 left in OT capped the comeback win that saw the Posse (2-4) score four goals in the second period after trailing 2-0 in the first 20 minutes.

Trevor Gulenchyn, Achille Casali, Justin Fodchuk and Terrance Josephson netted the other Princeton goals.

Photo Credit: Lorne White/KelownaNowKayson Gallant scored his first KIJHL goal in the second period in Princeton.Devin Sutton gave the Chiefs the opportunity to make it eight straight wins to start the season when he tied the game with 59 seconds remaining in regulation time.

Linemates Zach Erhardt and Brody Dale staked the Chiefs to their early lead while Kayson Gallant, a Red Deer product, scored his first KIJHL goal in the second period.

The Chiefs are back in action on Saturday when they meet the Kimberley Dynamiters at the Rutland Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
