  • Kamloops’ Team Brown takes home silver at China Open Curling Championship

Kamloops' Team Brown continues to impress the curling world, this time competing in Tianjin, China.

Skip Corryn Brown led her team, which consists of lead Ashley Klymchuk, second Dezaray Hawes, and third Erin Pincott, to a second-place finish at the 2019 China Open Curling Championship.

After knocking off teams from Korea, China, and the USA in the round-robin, the Canadians found themselves in tough against the Germans. An 8-7 win, thanks in part to a four-point 6th frame, would launch Canada over Germany and into the semi-finals for a rematch against Team Switzerland.

After falling behind early, Team Brown would rally off consecutive points, giving them a 5-2 win and putting them in the finals against Russia.

Despite a great effort from the women, the Russians won on the game's final rock. NowMedia is working on gathering the scores from the tournament when they become available.
