    Kamloops-skater sets ECHL club goal-scoring record

    An ECHL team is patting themselves on the back after taking a chance on a Kamloops kid. 

    Allen Americans forward, and Kamloops-born skater, Spencer Asuchak is officially the club's all-time leading goal-scorer.

    Asuchak accomplished the feat after scoring a power-play goal in the team's 4-3 victory against the Rapid City Rush on Saturday. After the goal, Asuchak added an assist, good enough to earn him second star in the game. 

    This season, Asuchak is tied for the team lead in points with 11, and second on the team in goals scored with four. 

    Asuchak has spent parts of seven seasons with the Americans, playing 311 games. During those 311 games, Asuchak has found the back of the net 99 times, collecting 252 points and 353 penalty minutes in the process.
