It’s become a trend in British Columbia and beyond over the past week or two.

Emergency vehicles of all kinds, police cars, fire trucks and ambulances, forming a procession past a hospital at 7 pm to pay tribute to the healthcare workers who are on the frontline of the COVID-19 crisis.

In Kelowna, it was done twice this past weekend in front of Kelowna 

It’s typically done around 7 pm, when these healthcare workers undergo shift change, and the community often joins in with cheers, cowbells and signs.

Tonight, the Kamloops RCMP, joined by their friends from Kamloops Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance, will be doing just this in front of Royal Inland Hospital.

They’ll salute these nurses, doctors, care aids and all the other hospital works with a drive by at 7 pm while they flash their lights and sound their sirens.

“Emergency vehicles will muster at the courthouse at 6:55 pm, head up Columbia, turn left into the hospital, go around the traffic loop area by admitting and retrace their steps back,” said an RCMP release.
