A four-time Juno nominee is performing at the next Kamloops Symphony Orchestra (KSO) concert to celebrate International Women’s Day as part of their Kelson Group Pops series.
Sarah Slean will be taking the Sagebrush Theatre stage with the KSO on March 10 and 11 for two genre-bending evenings featuring her original music and a handful of songs by Joni Mitchell.

“We are thrilled to be working with such a versatile and powerhouse of an artist,” says Daniel Mills, the executive director of the Kamloops Symphony.
“To be able to share her incredible talent with Kamloops and the community, while both showcasing her original songs and playing homage to those of Canadian legend Joni Mitchell, is a real privilege.”
The Canadian songstress has released 11 albums since being signed to Atlantic/Warner Records at the age of 19.

Throughout her 25-year career, she has also published two volumes of poetry, starred in short films and a movie musical, penned two string quartets and other classical chamber works and held numerous exhibitions of her paintings.
Classically trained from the age of five, Slean routinely collaborates with cutting-edge contemporary classical ensembles.
