If you always dreamed about answering a Daily Double, or saying “What is the Mona Lisa? Alex” on American TV, you might be out of luck, if you’re Canadian.
According to the Jeopardy website, the show won’t be taking contestants from their neighbours to the north.
One of their contestant FAQs is, “ARE CANADIANS ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE TEST?” referring to the test people have to take if they want to be on the show.
“At this time we are precluded from accepting registration information from Canadian residents. We are currently evaluating this matter,” it says.
Long-time host Alex Trebek is a dual citizen himself, born in Sudbury, Ontario and he later moved to the U.S. in the 70s.
