Sgt. Annie Linteau of the RCMP confirmed today they have ruled out one probable cause of the Elephant Hill Wildfire.
The investigation has ruled out railway activity as the cause of the fire.

“We’ve eliminated train rail line activities as a possible cause of the wildfire, meaning that it was not caused by train traffic or rail maintenance related activities on the rail line,” Linteau said. “We are continuing our investigation in relation to that fire.”
