If Indiana Jones can outrun giant boulders and survive all those snakes, certainly you can handle a movie in the great outdoors.

Watching films outside is one of summer’s sweet pleasures, and on Wednesday July 20, one of the greatest adventures of-all-time is showing.
Raiders of the Lost Ark is the latest outdoor screening of the Equimalt Summer Cinema series — and what a classic they snagged. The event is scheduled for 8:00pm, but will start after dusk for the best viewing experience.
Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The Esquimalt Lions concession booth will be open for your movie munchy needs.
You are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to enjoy the movie in comfort.
The 1981 classic began as a pet project of Steven Spielberg and George Lucas to pay homage to the serial adventures of yesteryear. It then launched one of the most recognizable and successful franchises in movie history (and this writer's favourite film).
And if you have never seen Raiders, well…shame on you. So here’s your chance to enjoy it on the big screen, and for free. You won’t be sorry!
