Meet Carly Turcott. Carly is from Fort St. John but has lived in Kamloops since October. She is an adventurous girl who enjoys working out and spending time with her family.

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops?
I am from Fort St John BC and I have lived in Kamloops since October 2018.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My favourite person to hang out with is Tracy Greus, we always have a lot of fun together and similar interests like hiking, working out, getting dolled up…I don't feel like I'm holding back when we're together.
What is your favourite local store in Kamloops and why?
Definitely Kamloops Oxygen Yoga & Fitness. Dina has played a huge part in making me feel welcome and easing into the community.
Describe yourself in one word.
Adventurous.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
New York. We eloped in Central Park and the trip was short. I still have a massive list of things I want to see and adventures to go on!
What is your favourite activity in Kamloops?
I have an almost 2-year-old so we visit Riverside Park almost daily and we also love the John Todd Centre and Wildlife Park.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
After 5 days in Bermuda sipping on mimosas, we arrived in New York to elope. That morning I woke up and my eye was the size of a golf ball. We found out this was due to all the saltwater and mimosas. Needless to say, our photographer avoided my face…

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
When my husband and I decided to have a baby, I checked in with my doctor and she told me I was extremely malnourished and needed to make some massive changes if I wanted a healthy pregnancy and baby. This inspired me to change my outlook on my health and lifestyle and set me on the journey to become a Health Coach so I could help other women achieve those changes in their life too.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Spending time with my grandma on her farm and all the fun adventures we'd go on.
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I am still learning the ins and outs of Kamloops and I am open to suggestions. I did purchase a lock for the Locking-In Hope event in June and I am looking forward to coming together as a community.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
The no pain no gain mentality – you can achieve your goals and positive change without pain if you have the right support in place and I would like everyone to know that.
Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
If I need some alone time I take the dogs to Peterson Creek Nature Park to hike.
Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
This is hard to answer because moving to Kamloops was a positive change for me and I love the city, people and all it has to offer. I do want to have a positive effect on the people in Kamloops and help them achieve their goals.
What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The people and amenities. I love all the opportunities for workshops, health-related events and adventures I can go on with my family.

Public speak in front of 1,000 people or more.

Go on a meditation retreat.

I am the oldest of 6 kids.
How do people connect with you, personally, through social media?
Facebook and Instagram.

Holistically Healthy Carly.
Why did you get into/start this business?
To help women achieve the same success that I have in health and life.
What is the goal of your business?
To help women step into the greatest version of themselves and create a life they love!
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Balancing being a mom and running a business from home.

Change is inevitable but personal growth is a choice.

Completing my Health and Life Certifications.
