Meet Aaron. He grew up in Merritt BC and has lived in Kamloops since June 2006. He's a family man that keeps busy helping Kamloopsian find homes! 

Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kamloops? 
Grew up in Merritt BC. I've lived in Kamloops since 2006

Who is your favorite person to spend time with and why?
Trick question!! I will go with… myself. Ranking people in my life is not my thing!

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Greenland, to see the melting before my own very eyes and then Cern.

What is your favorite local store in Kamloops and why?
Red Beard Cafe because Mitch will hire people that others may be prejudice towards.
What is your favorite activity?
Floating on the water on a warm day. No cell phone. Staring at the sky.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Got rocked by the indoor surf machine at H20 Adventure in Kelowna. Landed flat on my face in front of the lineup of patrons waiting their turn. My bathing suit definitely failed me and my backside was more than partly exposed to the amused onlookers.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
 My wife Sarah supporting me.

Tell us your favorite childhood memory?
My childhood home had no houses behind it, just a large sloped clay bank. We would spend hours digging out forts in the hillside and throwing 'clay bombs' from one fort to the other. Then run around getting grass stains, drink water from the garden hose that is turned up to high, and cook hot dogs on the backyard brick fire pit before sleeping on the deck.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
 Rotary Club of Kamloops Aurora Centennial, I also like to support A Way Home because youth homelessness should not be so prevalent.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
All parents would want to learn about a child's brain development.

What is your favorite activity in Kamloops?
Exploring backroads with my family, or simply going for a walk.

Where would you sneak away to in Kamloops to spend some time alone?
 I live besides Kenna Cartwright Park. Largest municipal park in BC!

Where would you like to see positive change in Kamloops and why?
I believe that mental illness or passed personal trauma contribute significantly to the marginalized community of drug addicts and homeless Kamloopsians whom we share these streets with. Meeting people 'where they are at' and helping them to become fed, safe, and rested are the first steps to improving the quality of life for all of us in our city. Not easy or quick, but damn necessary.

What do you think makes Kamloops great?
The diversity of nature from the rivers, to grasslands, to treed forests and lakes. 4 season fun!

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1.Figure out how I can contribute to different cultures understanding each other better.
2.Write a song with my children.
3.Going into an orbit would be cool. 

Tell us something that not everyone may know about you?
I stopped drinking alcohol years ago. I have never regretted it for a second. I can recite the alphabet backwards, taught English in China, write music with my brother Chris.

What is the name of your business/organization?
 Aaron Krausert – Remax Real Estate Kamloops

Why did you get into/start this business?
 I wanted to be responsible for my success or failure, and I've been involved in Real Estate since I was 10 cleaning rentals.

What is the goal of your business?
To show clients how I can help them become mortgage free faster than their bank will tell them 😉 and create passive income.

What has been your biggest struggle either in work or life?
I work every day. There are books I started reading years ago which I've never opened again. Clients, other agents, lawyers, inspectors, appraisers, lenders, strata companies never stop calling. I used to love going out of cell range for a half a hour to have a little break, however when I come back my phone buzzes 10 times and I am farther behind. When my wife goes to sleep I work for a hour or two to get caught up or prepare for the next day. Going to Tournament Capital Strength and Conditioning for an one hour class, having family dinner, or doing bath/book time with my kids are the only time my phone is on vibrate. I am not complaining, it's my choice to continue in this industry.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
 The rearview mirror is small, the windshield is big. No regrets. No looking back.

What do you always find yourself saying?
This is not a dress rehearsal

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is alive, who would you select?
 Elon Musk. I have many questions for him.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
First assumptive question, interesting. Multiplier affect. More $ spent in Kamloops should be raising the tides for all our ships. Evolution is a freight train that cannot be stopped, get familiar because Amazon Prime is not going away.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Learning how to recognize my own flaws to improve myself and my life, thanks in part to Choices Seminars, my wife Sarah and my mom and dad.
