(Update – 4:30 p.m.): Drive BC estimates Hwy 5 will reopen at 6 p.m.
An update is scheduled for that time as well.
(Original – 1:50 p.m.): Hwy 5 has been closed south of Barriere after a rock slide.
The slide occurred between Pinegrove Road and Clough Road and is affecting 4.1 kilometres of the highway.
An assessment is in progress.
