(UPDATE: @ 4:30 pm) – DriveBC has yet to officially report that Highway 1 has reopened, but a motorist at the scene says traffic is now moving in both directions. 

However, anyone traveling through the treacherous stretch of highway is reminded to exercise extreme caution as winter driving conditions persist. 

(Original Story: @ 2:30 pm) – Hwy 1 is closed in both directions west of Revelstoke.

DriveBC reports the closure at Three Valley Gap and crews are en route to the scene to make an assessment.

A NowMedia reader says that she’s been told it’s due to a spun out semi.

There’s no detour available and no estimated time for the road to reopen.
