UPDATE: Hwy 1 open in both directions at Three Valley Gap

(Update: 4 p.m.) – Drive BC is reporting that Hwy 1 (Trans-Canada Highway) has been reopened in both directions after a closure that lasted several hours.

(Original Story) – If you’re jumping in the car and heading east this afternoon, you may want to delay your trip.

Crews are currently dealing with downed power lines on Hwy 1 (Trans-Canada Highway), which has caused the road to be closed between Sicamous and Revelstoke.

According to DriveBC, the power lines came down after a vehicle incident near Three Valley Gap.

The highway should only be closed for a couple of hours and DriveBC will provide another update at 2:30 p.m.

There’s no alternate route or detour at this time.
