The Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) has been closed near Revelstoke.

The closure, due to a head-on collision between two tractor trailers on an overhead bridge, is 23 kilometres west of Revelstoke.

One driver is currently trapped in their vehicle, while another tractor-trailer is dangling over the edge of the bridge.

However, both drivers are conscious and injuries are not suspected to be immediately life-threatening.

Emergency crews, tow trucks and investigators are all on scene and an RCMP traffic analyst is en route to assess the incident.

There is no detour available while the highway remains closed.
