A GoFundMe has brought in significant donations for a Nanaimo cafe that has been hit hard by vandalism.
“As you are well aware, our beloved Downtown Nanaimo community is facing some tough times, and unfortunately, The Vault Café is bearing the brunt of a lot of it,” reads the fundraiser.

The GoFundMe is seeking to raise funds to cover the expense of replacing all the cafe’s windows.
Located at 499 Wallace Street, the cafe hosts a number of community events, such as open mic, live music, poetry nights, movie nights and more.
The fundraiser is nearly at its $7,000 goal, with just over $5,800 at the time of this writing.
The GoFundMe adds that it's “disheartening” to see owner Amanda Scott’s efforts and hard work go to waste, “especially when she pours so much into this community.”
“Together, let's show Amanda just how much her community loves and appreciates her. Every little bit counts and can make a significant difference in the life of someone who has given so much to us.”
