Another fun filled Center of Gravity (COG) was underlined by tragedy this year.
A 17-year-old Kamloops girl was taken from the festival grounds on Friday night for what what COG called a “medical emergency.”
She died a short time later at Kelowna General Hospital.
Through friends and family social media, that girl has been identified as Adison Davies, who was set to attend Thompson Rivers University in the fall.
She’s been described as a “bright young girl” with an exciting future ahead, which was cut far too short.
To help her family cover funeral costs, much needed time away from work and any other costs they may encounter as they grieve, a GoFundMe has been set up.
“Adison was excited about her future and had talked with her mother and father about her dreams of continuing her education in hopes of a career in medicine,” reads the GoFundMe description.
“Adison was a hard-working responsible young lady who maintained two jobs in order to buy her first vehicle.”

The initial goal for the GoFundMe was set at $7,000, but the total raised is already creeping towards that in less than 24 hours, with over $5,200 having been raised so far.
