Now is a good time to stay out of the backcountry, as this heatwave will increase the risk of wildfires.
If you're planning for a day outside, pack loads of water.
Bring a hat, sun block, long pants and long-sleeve shirts to give your skin a break from the heat.
If you're starting to get tired or feel sick, head indoors and cool down.
Watch for young children, keeping them well-shaded.

Do not keep kids or animals inside a parked vehicle – even if you're just planning to be five minutes.
Besides that, enjoy the hot, sunny days by taking advantage of the big, blue, nearly full-pool Okanagan Lake.
