About Toby!

Hi all, my name is Toby! I am a rescue but I’m still an affectionate and loyal companion. I was rescued from the dangerous streets of Tehran when I was a puppy. When they found me I was thin and dehydrated. Homeless life stressed me out and I had a bad skin infection. As is common in Iran, my ears and half my tail were brutally cut off at a tender age. Life didn’t start out very well for me, but now that I am here in Canada, I feel so much better! I gained some weight and my fur is thick and silky soft! I’ve never been so happy!

Personality Description
To meet me is to fall in love with me! I am a clever guy and a quick learner. It took me only one day to be house-trained and only two days to learn to sit on command and walk on a leash. I can also roll over and shake a paw. In addition to being super talented, I am very affectionate. My whole body wriggles when I get affection. When I am being petted, I like to tuck my head into your chest (It’s very endearing).
Suitability
My ideal family will have one or two adults who don't socialize at home too often with a fenced yard which I love to hang out and race around in just for the pure joy of it. Everyone who meets me is charmed by my delight with life and my loving nature.
While I am great with other dogs I meet on walks and am forever trying to get them to play with me, it is best if I am the only dog in the home as I tend to protect my food and toys from them. When I first arrived in Canada I used to do the same with people. But I have since learned that food and toys will always be available to me so now I am not nearly as protective. I even sit and wait until you tell me it is "okay" to eat my food.

I am an awesome guard dog and will never be caught napping if there is an intruder in the home. As I am protective of my home I don't like when visitors come over so when they do I need to be crated or put in a separate room. But just like with dogs I am fine meeting strangers on walks.
For some reason, cats make me very nervous. I just can't figure them out. It doesn't seem like I want to hurt them but rather just want them to go far far away, so I would prefer not to share my home with them.
My adoption fee is $500 and includes my neuter, vaccinations, microchip. For more information, contact Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
