  • Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Danny Kirwan dead at 68

    Danny Kirwan (May 13, 1950 – June 8, 2018) died at age 68 in London, England on Friday, according to a statement from the band.

    Kirwan joined Fleetwood Mac in 1968 as an 18-year-old guitarist, also offering some vocal and songwriting abilities to the band’s talented ensemble.

    He contributed to five albums during his time with the band: Then Play On (1969), Blue Jam at Chess (1969), Kiln House (1970), Future Games (1971) and Bare Trees (1972).

    The Fleetwood Mac band posted on their Facebook page expressing their condolences over the recent ex-member’s passing.

    The Twitter community also expressed their sorrow about the beloved band member’s early death.

    Kirwan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 beside Fleetwood Mac members, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Peter Green, John McVie, Christine McVie and Jeremy Spencer.
