Facebook Inc. just announced its quarterly results and saw significant growth.
In the first quarter, Facebook saw more than $10 billion in revenue.
The social network saw a 47% revenue increase in the third quarter.
For September of 2017, Facebook saw a year-over-year increase of 16% for Daily Active Users (DAUs), with 1.37 billion DAUs.
Monthly Active Users (MAUs) were 2.07 billion in September 2017, resulting in a 16% year-over-year increase.

Zuckerberg responded to the positive quarterly results by stating:
"None of that matters if our services are used in ways that don't bring people closer together – or if the foundation of our society is undermined by foreign interference."
In the midst of Facebook's growth, CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has been criticized for allegedly allowing the Russians to use Facebook to access information for political gain.
"I've expressed how upset I am that the Russians tried to use our tools to sow mistrust," he continued. "We build these tools to help people connect and bring us closer together. They used them to try to undermine our values."

Zuckerberg plans to increase the presence of video over the next few years, allowing transference of information between platforms like Instagram, WhatsApp and more.
Facebook found the introduction of Facebook Live generated 10 times the number of interactions and comments than other videos.
