Environment Canada Issues Freezing Rain Warning

Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for the Similkameen and Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton.

Motorists and residents in this area can expect to see freezing rain for much of the afternoon on Tuesday. The freezing rain may cause surfaces such as the highway, roads, and sidewalks to become extremely slippery.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

Those driving along Highway 3 via the Allison Pass can expect weather to change suddenly from rain, to sleet, to snow, resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are advised to check DriveBC for the latest conditions on area highways.
