  • Downtown Summerfest 2018 kicks off this Sunday

    One of Prince George’s favorite events is back in action this weekend!

    Downtown Summerfest will be bringing its live music, family fun, great shopping and amazing food to the Canada Games Plaza, this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    This family-friendly event has tons of hands-on activities for every member of the family including magic, superheroes and live entertainment!

    The mysterious Matt  “The Magician” Johnson will be performing live on the TD Mainstage and Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man and Captain America will be making a special appearance.

    The Community Kidz Zone will be bursting with family activities including:

    • The Blackspruce mobile petting farm
    • Home Hardware Butterfly House
    • Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum – Mini Rail
    • Old fashion games from Huble Homestead Historic Site
    • The Prince George Fire Department
    • Le Cercle des Canadiens Français de Prince George and their giant bubbles
    • Face painting fun
    • Rolling Mix Concrete dinosaur dig
    • The Exploration Place- paper pinwheels
    • Two Rivers Gallery – dot painting
    • YMCA of Northern BC – giant snakes & ladders
    • Fortis BC – Jenga / beanbag toss
    • Prince George Public Library – giant chess
    • Spruce Kings – road hockey shootout
    • And so much more!

    Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated aspect of the festival is the Canadian Western Bank Taste Pavillion. Where over 20 local restaurants will be showcasing their best tasting plates.   

    Once downtown, you’re invited to explore the local shops and eateries, visit the Prince George Farmers Market and enjoy the CrossRoads Brewing Street Festival.
