Breaking News:

This is some breaking news!

  • Dilworth Drive will partially close for nearly a month next week

The connection of the Okanagan Rail Trail will force the closure of Dilworth Drive between Omineca Place and Leckie Road next week.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, July 16, motorists will be asked to use alternate routes including Glenmore Drive and Summit Drive until August 10.

Bridge repairs associated to the new Okanagan Rail Trail include a bridge deck replacement with concrete, waterproofing and concrete abutment repairs.

The repairs will also include pedestrian/cycle activated signals, storm water quality control structures and a new sidewalk for improved connectivity to the new rail trail.

While midsummer is a less than ideal time to close a major route in the city, construction is necessary during this time due to provincial regulatory requirements to work near fish bearing streams.
