(UPDATE: Aug. 23 @ 11:20 am) – Traffic is once again moving in both directions on Hwy 97 following a closure that shut the eastbound lanes in West Kelowna for several hours. 

While the eastbound lanes have been reopened, drivers should expect delays in the area as the backlog of traffic on the highway and surrounding roads continues to clear.

(Original story: Aug. 23 @ 9:35 am) – A vehicle incident has closed a portion of Hwy 97 in West Kelowna, creating delays for commuters heading into Kelowna.

According to DriveBC, the highway is closed eastbound at Boucherie Road and an assessment of the incident is in progress. 

The agency added that drivers should watch for traffic control and expect delays in the area. 

One area in particular experiencing delays is Sneena Road, as drivers are trying to avoid the incident.
