    Country singer Dwight Yoakam coming to Kelowna

    It’s good news for all the old-school country fans in Kelowna as Dwight Yoakam announces a performance at Prospera Place this fall.

    The Guitars, Cadillacs singer, who has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, will perform Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. Meghan Patrick and Washboard Union will open for Yoakam.

    Over the years, he has been nominated for 21 Grammys, and won many of them.  Nearly 40 of Yoakam’s singles have charted, with 14 peaking in the Top 10.

    In 2015, he released his latest album Second Hand Heart.

    In addition to his musical career, Yoakam has also acted in many roles alongside Jodie Foster, Tommy Lee Jones, Jared Leto, Forest Whitaker and Matthew McConaughey.

    Tickets will go on sale online at 10 a.m. on July 22. Prices will range from about $50 to $200, with VIP packages available.
