The Prince George Cougars played a tough game against the Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday.

In the first 20 minutes of the game, the Rockets lit up the score board with three goals at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

Cougars goaltender, Nick McBride, had his hands full, with the first two points of the game coming from the Rockets bench.

In the second period, rookie right wing, Josh Curtis, scored the first goal for the Cougars when he stole a breakaway and fired the puck between the legs of Rockets goaltender, James Porter.

In the third period, Cougars defenceman, Max Martin, fired a pass to teammate Jared Bethune, who was positioned perfectly in front of the net, gaining the Cougars' second point in the game.

The Rockets led the scoring in Wednesday night's match, but in the last 17 seconds of the game, the Cougars managed to get one more point on the board with a wrist shot from Dennis Cholowski.

The stars of the Rockets bench were Carsen Twarynski, Dillon Dube and Cal Foote.

The Cougars return to Prince George on Friday and Saturday to play the Vancouver Giants, who are currently ranked third.
