200 Okanagan youth took to the skies this afternoon as part of the Kelowna Flying Club and the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association's COPA for Kids Event.

Private pilots offered up their Saturday afternoon and aircraft to take kids ages eight to seventeen for a rip around the valley with a bird's eye view.

The COPA for Kids events have been giving families and curious minds a peek into the world of aviation for a number of years. Teaching attendees everything from pre-flight safety measures to tips for safely landing.

Due to high interest in the event, organizers added another 50 flight spots, taking the usual 150 spots to 200.

In addition to soaring through the clouds, participants could browse the various aviation vendor booths, get their faces painted and even take a look inside the YLW First Responders plane.
