  • Construction set to start on sections of Main Street next month

The City of Penticton is providing early notice of forthcoming construction along Main Street, scheduled to begin in February and carry through to the end of May.

However, the city says that if weather conditions aren’t favourable, the contractor may choose to start work in March.

During this period, nearby residents and drivers should watch for three phases of road works between the intersections of Industrial Avenue to Rosetown Avenue, Rosetown Avenue to Okanagan Avenue, and Okanagan Avenue to Warren Avenue.

The work being conducted includes new water mains, sanitary mains, storm mains and repaving of road sections.

It is expected that during construction there will be traffic, access, and utility disruptions.  Whenever possible, efforts will be taken to provide advance notice to residents and businesses who are directly impacted by disruptive work, typically within 48 hours of any planned interruption of utility service or property access.

“The City thanks residents and business owners for their patience while the work is carried out," said Tyler Figgitt, City Design Supervisor.
