  • UPDATE: Dan Albas wins Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola

    (Update: Oct. 21 @ 10:15pm) – Dan Albas' lead in his Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola riding continues to grow.

    The Conservative candidate now has 26,187 of 54,261 votes (48.3%) with 195 of 227 polls reporting.

    Liberal candidate Mary Ann Murphy trails with 13,425 votes (24.7%), while NDP candidate Joan Phillip has 9,113 (16.8%) and the Green Party under candidate Robert Mellalieu have 4,244 (7.8%).

    NowMedia is about ready to call the riding in Albas' favour, but will continue to update this story as the results come in.

    (Original Story) – Conservative Party incumbent Dan Albas continues to maintain a big lead in the riding of the Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola.

    As of 9:45 pm on Monday night, Albas has 21,377 of 44,775 total votes (48.1%) with 107 of 227 polls reporting.

    Liberal Party candidate Mary Ann Murphy has 24.8% of the vote, followed by NDP Joan Phillip at 17.2%, the Green Party's Robert Mellalieu with 7.9%, People’s Party candidate Allan Duncan at 2% and Libertarian Jesse Reiger with 0.3%.

    Nationwide, a Liberal minority has been projected since about 7:30 pm local time and that seems to be holding true as the Liberals are currently in command of 157 seats.

    The Conservatives, who are winning the popular vote right now, are projected to win 121 seats.
