The BC Conservation Officer Service was out and about this morning, trying to help animals in need.
After receiving a call from a concerned citizen, officers learned an owl was injured, unable to fly, and stuck in the middle of the highway in Prince George.

An officer was able to rescue the owl and move it to a safe location. The owl is getting a lift to the Owl Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society in Delta to receive the care it needs.
The BC COS hopes the animal can be released back into the wild following a speedy recovery.
